2026 Daily Affirmation #213

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all. This was the testimony given at the proper time” (1 Timothy 2:5-6, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to intercede for us. He stepped into that role before Creation was created (Revelation 13:8), and stands in fulfillment of that role since His resurrection to life (Romans 8:34). In the Old Covenant, God was looking for intercessors to stand in the gap for people and intercede on their behalf. To engage the grace and mercy of God in a cooperative action between God and humanity. In the New Covenant, we don’t need to do that. Jesus is doing that for us. What WE do as intercessors is to get into alignment with Jesus. To agree with what Jesus is saying. To seek His heart for people and grab onto that and not let go (2 Peter 3:9). Since God can do anything, we need to find out what it is that He wants to do, and then pray for that. Because God is infinitely more merciful, more loving, and seeking better things for us (all of us) than we could manage on our own. His plans are always so much superior to ours. He can see more things, imagine better things, and loves us with a purity that is unmatched in Creation. And this is the One who is always at bat for you and me. Always bringing us before the Father. Always cheering us on. Always seeking the best outcome for us. Always pointing to who we are under the Blood, and not who we appear to be to anyone else (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus is always taking our case, fighting for our freedom, and doing all He can so that we can walk where He says we can walk and accomplish what He says we can accomplish. Jesus loves us enough to ALWAYS be at bat for us.
