2026 Daily Affirmation #215

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:10, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to be our Lord. He didn’t have to be. God could have abandoned humanity when we rebelled. He was well within His rights as Sovereign Lord to kill humanity and start all over again. He could have done that. But He did not. He loved us enough to be merciful. To be gracious. To work with us and in us and through us. To be the LOVE that He is. So when we accept His guidance and lordship. When we get His Light on something in our lives, it is important that we don’t ignore it or try to sweep it under a mat. It is important that we don’t seek to hide it. Or avoid it because it’s unpleasant. It’s important that we acknowledge God for who He is and humbly submit to Him. Anyone can read the Word, see something in it that can be applied, and then not do it. Maybe claiming that we’ll try, but not ever really thinking about it long enough or deep enough to make it part of our own personal inner character. We do a great job of being disciples of Jesus during bible study time, devotional time, or in a service. We don’t always do a good job of being disciples day to day throughout the whole day. Jesus wants to be in every area of our lives, spirit, soul, and body. There is nothing that He doesn’t want to transform into what it should be. He doesn’t want us remaining where we are. He wants to lift us up to where He is. But if we don’t submit, which we rightly should do because He is our Lord, it won’t happen. If we put ourselves first, we won’t ever get to where we could be. We won’t ever get transformed the way we could be. We need to submit and apply what He shows us. Not just hear Him, but LISTEN to Him. When He shines His Light and shows us what is really happening, we need to obey Him and get aligned with Him. He loves us so much. We need to love Him back – in our actions, not just our words.
