Fear No Fear

“Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and Yahweh’s glory filled the house. The priests could not enter into Yahweh’s house, because Yahweh’s glory filled Yahweh’s house. All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and Yahweh’s glory was on the house. They bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, worshiped, and gave thanks to Yahweh, saying, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever!” Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Yahweh. King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God’s house. The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of Yahweh, which David the king had made to give thanks to Yahweh, when David praised by their ministry, saying “For his loving kindness endures forever.” The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.”

“Shout for joy to Yahweh, all you lands!
    Serve Yahweh with gladness.
    Come before his presence with singing.
Know that Yahweh, he is God.
    It is he who has made us, and we are his.
    We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
    and into his courts with praise.
    Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
For Yahweh is good.
    His loving kindness endures forever,
    his faithfulness to all generations.”
(Psalm 100)

God is consistent. His loving kindness lasts forever. And He shows us His glory again and again and again. Sinai: fire and cloud. In the desert: fire and cloud. In the Temple: fire and cloud. In the Upper Room: fire. Elijah: fire came down. Tabernacle: fire and cloud. He is LIGHT and He FILLS the spaces He inhabits. He is VISIBLE. And He is SUPERIOR. Our proper response is worship, thankfulness, and JOY. Joyful that this superior being wants to have a relationship with us. That He has opened the Way to us. That He is willing to engage with us. One on one. Together.

Joy has strength in it. God’s strength. He gives it to us willingly and makes sure that He never closes the door that takes us into His presence where the Joy lives. This is what He made us for. To be together with Him. To be lifted up from what we are to what He says we can be. To lift us out of our problems and situations so that we can get His perspective on them. Giving us His Light so that the darkness flees. Anxiety, fear, depression, all conquered with His love and light, making room for His Joy. Not just for today or tomorrow, but forever. Because HE endures and HE brings us to where He is in and through Jesus.

Summary

Life is not complex. It is hard and difficult, but it is simple. We can reject the negative and accept the positive. This isn’t a ‘thinking to manifest it’ thing. This is a God giving us something actual and truthful to replace the lies and feelings of defeat thing. It is like a light switch. The power is there. The Light is waiting. We need to engage with it. We need to let the Light in. We need to choose Jesus. Every day. In every way. We need to realize that THIS is what we are thankful for. THIS is what we were created for. This is our purpose. A relationship with God. Us and Him. Hand in hand. God directing and us obeying. Bringing blessing upon blessing to the world so that everyone can see what He has shown us: He IS love and His love IS joy.
