“Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to make an effort. He is there knocking. God is not aloof. He cares about each and every one of us (2 Peter 3:9). But time is not unlimited. There will come a moment when it is too late. When we should have already answered. When our opportunities will be closed. When the knocking will stop. Not because He doesn’t love us, but because time will have run out. God is loving. God is merciful. God is gracious. But God is just. He isn’t drawing it out forever. He is holding back judgment until every single human being has had the opportunity to hear the message of the Kingdom, the message of redemption, and made a conscious choice to listen and respond to that message or to reject it. God wants us saved more than we want to be saved. But He isn’t going to force us. Sooner or later, time will run out. We will have heard. We will have had the opportunity to respond. And if we haven’t, then that will be that. God wants us to have a relationship with Him. Not to know ABOUT Him, but to know HIM. He doesn’t want to tell anyone that they didn’t know Him (Matthew 7:21-23). But God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18). He will uphold our decisions. He will honour our free will. He won’t force Himself on us. If you don’t KNOW Him, get to know Him. Start today. Open the door. Let Him in. Start talking and listening. Read the Word. Get to know Him. Respond to Him. He loves us. He’s right there. Today is a GREAT day to start a new relationship or to deepen the one you have. Don’t wait. Meet God. You will NEVER regret it.
