Fear No Fear

“If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15, MEV). God loves us enough to show us His moral character and nature. It takes the development of spiritual discipline in order to obey. But obeying is so much easier when we love God. Obedience unlocks the Kingdom. All the things God promises are available to those who obey Him. It’s not a bribe. It’s Truth. How can we enjoy the peace of God when we are rebelling? How can we take from His hand when our backs are turned? How can we prosper in all things starting with our spirits when we are rejecting Him and denying the truth of His Word? All the things of God are available to everyone who chooses to find Him, obey Him, and by obeying follow Him. It is SO SIMPLE. It really is. But it isn’t easy because obeying means sacrificing some of our desires. Some of the things we want. Whether that is to sleep in, not give, not be generous to those we encounter, or whatever it is. There are MANY opportunities to disobey. Jesus told us to think like we’re servants. To put others before ourselves. Jesus told us to take up our cross and follow Him. He ONLY did what the Father said because Jesus loves the Father SO MUCH. We are in Jesus. We can do the same. But we have to CHOOSE it. We choose it by discipling ourselves to choose it. To know the options and to pick God. It is hard at the start. It gets easier the more we do it – but only in the area we do it in. The more we love Him, the more we know His Word which introduces us to Him, the easier it is to pick His Way. He loves us so much. We need to develop the discipline to put our love for Him first.
