2026 Daily Affirmation #225

For they indeed disciplined us for a short time according to their own judgment, but He does so for our profit, that we may partake of His holiness. Now no discipline seems to be joyful at the time, but grievous. Yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness in those who have been trained by it” (Hebrews 12:10-11, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to correct us. He does it through Holy Spirit who convicts us of not trusting in Jesus in any given circumstance (reminding us that we are the righteousness of God in Messiah Jesus – John 16:8-11). He does it through the Word, showing us the Light we need to shine on any given circumstance by showing us God’s point of view and moral character (2 Timothy 3:16). He does it so that we can see where we missed it, turn around, and align ourselves with God’s point of view – repenting (1 John 1:9). God hasn’t had anyone qualified working for Him yet. We ALL miss it. We ALL have areas where we are not trusting in God. And if we aren’t trusting in God, we are trusting in ourselves (or someone/something else) and that is sin because sin is simply rebellion against God (Romans 14:23). If we learn to trust Jesus every single time, we will never trust anything or anyone else and therefore will not sin (1 John 3:9). That’s where we’re headed bit by bit (2 Corinthians 3:18). It’s a great destination and when we stand before the Throne face to face we will have arrived. Until then, Jesus loves us enough to correct us. Not to condemn us, but to convict us. To point out where we could have trusted God. To show us how we could trust in God. To help us. To guide us. To be right there beside us BEING the Way and SHOWING us the Way. We aren’t going to be perfect. But we CAN be the kind of people who LISTEN to the correction and APPLY what we are being shown in the Word. We can be the kind of people constantly seeking God’s will and not letting go until that day we are standing face to face in the light of His Glory. All because He loved us enough to make us like Him.
