2026 Daily Affirmation #231

Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have held me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:23-26, MEV). God is GOD and wants an individual relationship with each and every one of us. How can He do that? He’s God! It is a mystery, but it is also a TRUTH. God has no grandchildren, only children. Individual relationships. A covenant with individuals. We must remember that. We aren’t ‘getting points’ if our church is doing well. If we are in a great prayer group. If our bible studies get intimate and thought provoking. All that is great and there is a benefit and a blessing from corporate activities and fellowship. But the foundation of it all is a PERSONAL relationship with God. He isn’t satisfied with anything else. We are each of us responsible for our own actions, our own thoughts, and our own words. We are each of us responsible for our choices and whether or not we are putting our trust in Him. It is INDIVIDUAL. Jesus reminded us to remember Him and what He did for US (personal). It would be a real shame if we would chose not to take advantage of a God who can see each of us as if we were the only person on the planet. It would be a tragedy if we didn’t enter into a relationship with the One who wanted to enter into a relationship with us. A personal one. One where we know Him and He knows us. One where we listen as well as speak. One where we spend time together. Real time. On a daily basis. Not just worshipping, praying, and reading the Word, but also just being in His presence. Speaking as friends, listening as servants, and communing as family. Remembering who He is, but also remembering and taking advantage of who He chooses to be to us.
