2026 Daily Affirmation #240

All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:8, MEV). God loves us enough to deliver us. Birth pangs suck. Every woman everywhere on this planet who has ever given birth will agree. They are not fun in ANY way. I don’t think the baby particularly enjoys them either. But they are neccessary. Without them, that baby is not coming out. Without them, there won’t be life in a new environment. And those birth pangs aren’t in control. They are a symptom of a process that is ongoing. A process that is neccessary and needed and cannot be stopped once it starts. The birth pangs are the show, but they aren’t running the show. They aren’t in control. The doctor delivering the baby is overseeing them. Monitoring them. Making sure they don’t take over the process. Making sure that the mother and the baby make it through. They use all kinds of tests and equipment and nurses and instructions and knowledge to do that. It is VERY impressive. At no point are the baby or the mother ignored. They might not be having fun and enjoying themselves, but they are not ignored. They are led through the process. They are brought by professional hands to the other side. It is the same way with us. There are birth pangs going on right now in this world. And they are NOT fun. They are big, painful, and at times heartbreaking. But they are only symptoms of the process. The process is going on and is being directed by more than a doctor. By more than someone with technical knowledge. They are being directed by the Creator. The One who IS. We will get to the other side. We will have new life in a new environment. But we need to listen to the One who is in control. We have to do what He says, how He says, and when He says. We have to submit to Him. We have to acknowledge Him for who He is, honour Him, and obey Him. If we do, we’ll get to the other side. We’ll walk in what He is birthing. We’ll get to enjoy His life that He made for us. Birth pangs are tremendous, but they are temporary. They are got through. And JOY is on the other side.
