2026 Daily Affirmation #242

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you” (Matthew 6:33, MEV). God loves us enough to be first for us. We need to remember that. He isn’t first because He has an ego. He isn’t demanding a place from us. He is GOD ALMIGHTY. He IS. This IS His place. The question is whether we are respecting that or whether we are rejecting that. God is THE Creator. Nothing exists without Him having created it. Which means everything is subordinate to Him. Everything. No matter what. Nothing can best Him. Nothing can take advantage of Him. He is FIRST. It is such a basic truth. Such a simple concept. But we FREQUENTLY forget it. We forget to stay connected to Jesus. We forget to put Him before us. His wants before ours. We forget to check in and see what His opinion is before we act. We don’t take the moment to remember His point of view before we speak. And yet, that is how it should be. That is what is right and proper and good. Everything flows when they flow properly. The natural world is a type and shadow of the spiritual world. We see laws at play in this natural world. When we try to go against the natural order, that’s when problems show up. When we go against the flow of water. When we try to force something into place. When we don’t use the way the world functions, but instead set our will against it, that’s when problems come up. When we work WITH the natural processes, things are SIMPLER. EASIER. They work as DESIGNED. Our relationship with God was DESIGNED. God is at the top where He belongs and we are with Him, subordinate to Him where we belong. We aren’t miles and miles below. He placed us, because He wanted to, right below Himself (Psalm 8:3-6). When we humbly submit to Him, and rely on Him, He raises us up in Jesus to where He DESIGNED us to be. We need to remember His place and make sure we’re honouring it as we worship and honour Him. It only takes a moment to look to Him. Every day has MANY opportunities to do just that. Don’t ignore the chances. Take them, align with Him, and keep Him in His rightful place.
