2026 Daily Affirmation #244

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”” (Matthew 4:17, MEV). God loves us enough to call to us. The Kingdom of Heaven was at hand. I think we can forget that it is STILL at hand. Even more, I think we forget that there is always an aspect of our lives that we haven’t brought into submission to the Lord. There are thoughts that we think, there are opinions we have, there are things that we do, there are things that we read and watch and listen to, and there are verses in the Word that we haven’t submitted to. We are NOT perfect. There is ALWAYS a place to get His Light. There is ALWAYS space to step even closer to Him. It doesn’t have to be in huge and earth-shaking ways. It can be in small things. Small phrases we choose not to say. Small ideas that we grab a hold of and refuse to let go. It can be in hearing Holy Spirit commentate on a verse you’ve read a thousand times before, but this time it hits different. This time you see an application of it that you totally missed before. Repenting isn’t wailing, moaning, and confessing deep, dark, secret sins and iniquities. Repenting is hearing God’s point of view on something, and then studying it out and meditating on it and getting it into your heart so that His point of view becomes your point of view. It is turning around and moving toward Him instead of holding to something that faces away from Him. It is a mental shift toward godly thinking. We have access to the Mind of Messiah (1 Corinthians 2:16). It’s about time we listen to what we hear from Him. Listen and apply it. Big and small. In every way we can. One piece at a time. He shows us, we deal with it. Taking a step closer to Jesus every day. That’s our inheritance. That’s our salvation. That’s our journey. Hand in hand with Jesus, a step every day. What a privilege!
