“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10, MEV). God loves us enough to prepare things for us. He did it before we needed them. He did it before we were capable of understanding them, much less utilizing them. He prepared them and He has prepared us. But WE still have to walk. We have to make the effort to lift our feet and propel ourselves forward. We still have to DO what has been prepared for us to do. We are not automatons. We are not God’s robots. We are also not puppets. We are COOPERATORS. It is WITH God that all things are possible. Yes, He does the heavy lifting. Yes, it is His power. Yes, without Him we are nothing. But we still have a part to play. We are the instrument through which He is doing His greatest works. We aren’t worthy of the honour. He MAKES us worthy in Jesus. We can’t do much on our own. He does it through us in Jesus. He gives us the words. He releases the finances. He creates the opportunities. He speaks to us about what we’re to do, when we’re to do it, and how. But we still need to DO the things. We need to obey. He is looking for obedience in His children. He doesn’t ask you for more than you can handle because HE is the one doing the work. We only need to obey. To be in the right place. To say the words. To do the things. He takes care of everything else. He is the results guy, not us. We don’t have to make anything happen. Which is a HUGE relief. I know my limits. I know what I can’t do. God HAS no limits. He is MORE THAN ENOUGH. If we listen to Him – even when it seems life is saying something completely different – then what He has planned will work. It will be accomplished. And we will be able to give Him the complete glory for it. Because we’ll be the first to admit it was all God. He did the stuff. We just cooperated.
