“Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you” (Revelation 3:3, MEV). God loves us enough to show up. He is coming. Whether He is coming for the last time to roll up the skies and end the rebellion of those who stand against Him or whether He is coming to show up and be more real to you than you have ever even imagined Him being. God shows up. God is coming. There are those who have hardened their hearts repeatedly and on purpose. They are choosing to rebel and continue to rebel, even in the face of knowing that He is real and He is God. They’re going to earn what they’re demanding. There is going to be judgment. God is coming. God shows up. The question is what we are going to do when He does. No one knows when it’s going to happen. Only the Father knows. Holy Spirit doesn’t know. Jesus doesn’t know. It’s Father knowledge. So it is going to be a surprise to all of us. But Holy Spirit and Jesus aren’t going to be taken unprepared. They’ve already prepared. They’ve been prepared since before Creation was Created. They are one in purpose, will, and being with the Father. It will be sudden and they will be ready. Guess what? It is going to be a surprise to us too. It will be sudden. Are you ready? Will it find you unprepared, or prepared? Do you have your spiritual ‘God is coming’ preparedness kit packed and ready? Are you shocked, appalled, and scared? Or are you going to shout praise and say ‘Let’s go!’? Jesus has been warning us for centuries. We look at that and think we have centuries more. But the warnings are for the present. Whenever the present is. Now today, next week, or centuries from now. It makes no difference. Don’t get lulled. Don’t fall asleep. Don’t think you can get right and be pure later. Do it now. Don’t wait. Submit to what you find in the Word. Humble yourself before God and submit to Him. He is God. He is coming. He is good. And He is just. Humble yourself and walk in His Way. Don’t delay. Stir yourself up. Praise the Lord! Be joyful in Him! Be ready to be surprised.
