Fear No Fear

“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and excellence, by which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through these things you might become partakers of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:3-4, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to share His mind with us. God loves us enough to open the Way for us to become more like Him, gain His moral character, and operate according to how He thinks. We gain it when we are saved, because we are in Jesus and Jesus is in us (1 Corinthians 2:16). It is a MAJOR gift of salvation. The wicked don’t have access to God’s mind. To them it is FAR ABOVE. To us? It is right there, door open, access granted. And I’m not talking about a way to get hints about the future or to receive prophecies or special revelation that no one else has ever had. God DOES give prophecies (2 Peter 1:20-21). God DOES give us hints about what He is going to do in the future (Amos 3:7). God does NOT give us fresh, new revelation because the WORD is His revelation and that is where it stops. We can gain new insight about it, but we get nothing that replaces it. The Word is all we need (2 Timothy 3:16). The advantage of having access to the Mind of Messiah is that we gain access to His point of view. His way of thinking. His way of approaching life. His way of prioritizing things. Humans need that. We’re lost without that. We can’t be trusted to go our own way, because our own way is selfish. Even when we are being empathetic and reaching out, there is the shadow of selfishness to it. We can be good and noble and nice and kind, but we cannot be righteous outside of God. And that is really what we need to be, because we need to be righteous to approach the Throne and the Throne is where we should be standing in our spirits as we thank Him, worship Him, and humbly submit to His will (Hebrews 4:16). We get that through Jesus. In HIM we are the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus opened the Way to us. We need to take advantage of it and lean into His point of view. To get into the Word and let the mind of Jesus instruct us. To get the commentary we need, the insight we need, and the encouragement to apply what we see in the Word. To submit to what we find and walk in obedience to God. To use what He has given to us so that we are in alignment with Him.
