2026 Daily Affirmation #276

“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” (Isaiah 53:1, MEV). God loves us enough to give us His report. There are always conflicting reports. The world, our workplace, our friends, professionals, our bodies, our families, and even our own thinking. They do not always line up. In fact, they seem to be at odds more often than not. Part of functioning in this life is figuring out which way to go in the face of multiple directions. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has different experiences. Everyone has different feelings. We can only prove so much, and even then it sometimes only proves it was correct in specific circumstances. What do you do and who do you listen to? The obvious answer would be God. But do we? When God speaks, do we listen to His report? We would be more likely to if we heard His audible voice, but we don’t hear that. God has rarely used an audible voice – and sometimes it was mistaken for other phenomena when He did (John 12:29). God speaks to our hearts and God speaks through His messengers (angelic and human). We do not always listen. We do not always believe what we hear. We crave physical experiences because they make feelings in us that we don’t get any other way. But those feelings don’t convince us of anything. We don’t hold to feelings. We can see that in the Word again and again. God’s children experienced incredible visitations. Yet they did not always choose to believe. They still strayed and went their own way. How much more are we susceptible to wandering when we only hear a word? God is always telling us what He thinks. Holy Spirit constantly speaks to us. The Word is there speaking to us. God tells us what He says is possible in and through Jesus. Do we believe the report? Do we rest in Him? Do we engage what He is offering to us? Sometimes yes, but sometimes no. We need to cultivate our hearts. We need to plant the Word. We need to come to the place where we choose to believe His report – no matter WHAT He says – because it lines up with the Word and is consistent with His moral character. It means trusting. It means relying on Him. It means praying and critical thinking (1 Thessalonians 5:21). But if we’ll do that, we’ll find that what God says will be will actually be. What He says is possible is actually possible. Even the impossible is possible when it is God doing it. We need to learn to trust Him. We need to learn to believe Him. We need to learn to accept His report and hold onto it believing and trusting, no matter what anyone else says. He will never lie. He will never harm us. We can trust Him. We can believe Him. He is a GOOD God.
