“Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24, MEV). God loves us enough to be faithful to His Word. His love is a proof of His character. His character is proof of His love. They cannot be separated. God’s faithfulness should NEVER be underestimated. It is HUGE. Human beings can be somewhat faithful. In one area we will be a rock, in another we will let you down. But God is faithful in EVERY way. ALWAYS. That is massive. That should bring you such comfort and peace. It really should. It means that since He has given us His Word so that we can learn His moral character, the Way He is, we can ALWAYS know what His will is because He is faithful. We always know what He will do – or what He WANTS to do, if we’ll get into alignment with Him. That’s why Jesus could be so confident in His instruction to us about how to pray so that we WILL receive (Mark 11:24). We MUST pray according to the Word (1 John 5:14-15). We’re not praying to convince God, we’re praying His will and thanking Him for His faithfulness (Matthew 6:5-15). It isn’t OUR WILL or wants, but HIS WILL and wants that we pray (Luke 22:42). Our belief and trust in His faithfulness in His Word is the steadiness needed in our lives for His will to manifest (James 1:6-8). All of it is possible because He is faithful. He will do what He will do every time. Every time. He has given us a whole book for us to learn His will. To learn His heart. To get closer to Him. And we know that we can. He is steady. He is consistent. He is constant. He is faithful and it is a BLESSING. We are never in the unknown when it comes to Him. Ever. If He says it, He WILL do it (Psalm 37:5). He keeps ALL His promises (Numbers 23:19-20).
