“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14, MEV). God loves us enough to treat us with Grace, not just Mercy. Mercy is not getting what we deserve. Grace is getting what someone else deserves. In Jesus, we are treated as if we were Jesus (except for the being God part). We enter into Him and are treated as if what He did was what we did. God isn’t looking at our Sin. God is looking at a person cleansed from Sin. God is looking at His righteousness reflected back through us. God sees us as He calls us to be. It isn’t performance based. It isn’t because of our ability to ‘follow the rules’. It was done in Jesus thousands of years before we were born (John 19:30) and spiritually determined before anything was created (Revelation 13:8). We need to accept this gift. We need to engage this gift. And we can only do that by entering into Jesus. We need to humble ourselves and let Him be who He is. He lives in and through us, we live through Him (Galatians 2:20; John 15:5). We have to do that by choosing to do that. By choosing to let Him call the shots. By choosing to trust Him. By choosing to meditate on His Word. By choosing to act in accordance with Him. Aligned with Him. Growing His Fruit in our hearts. Checking in with Him. Worshipping Him. Being thankful to Him. LISTENING to Him and doing what He tells us to do. Not blindly following, but believing what He says and trusting Him because we know His moral character. We know His will. We know He won’t go against it. Living for Him, through Him, and in Him. Being a place where His light can shine out. It’s a choice to trust Him. To let Him lift us. To let Him provide for us. To let Him guide and correct us. To interact with Him like loving children to a loving parent. It’s a vibrant way to live. We have to choose to live that way. To take it the extra mile from head knowledge, mere information, to heart experience, a lived condition. He is MORE THAN ENOUGH, so we need to let Him be that for us every day. We need to choose it. On purpose. With forethought. Daily.
