2026 Daily Affirmation #310

“But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10, MEV). God loves us enough to reveal to us hidden things. Not hidden away to keep them secret, but hidden in Himself so that we won’t find them without seeking. This isn’t NEW revelation. This isn’t the next gospel or letter or piece of scripture that the world has never before seen. God isn’t doing that. This is revelatory knowledge about what He has already told us. Explanations and discussions about what He has said to us. Commentary by the writer of the Bible. The Word is the best tool to interpret the Word (2 Timothy 3:16). Jesus told parables and then Jesus explained them. And then Luke, Paul, Peter, John, James, Matthew, Mark, and the emissaries of the early church went around explaining the parables and Jesus’ explanation. That’s what the Word is. Holy Spirit revealing to us the things of God and then explaining them to us. He hasn’t stopped. For several thousands of years He’s been doing it. It is one of the HUGE advantages we have in the renewed covenant over those who were under the old covenant. We have God living inside us. All the time. He is there speaking to us constantly. Never stops. The message may repeat until we get it from time to time, but He is always speaking to us. He is there available to us. We can strike up a conversation with Him over a passage we don’t understand. He’ll use direct communication with us, messages other people have given, the Word, books other people have written, and our memories of what people have said to us over the years. And probably a bunch of other ways. Holy Spirit is our guide, our teacher, our corrector, our commentator, and our tutor. But He isn’t simply handing us the answers. If we don’t understand the foundation, we won’t understand the thirty-ninth floor. He leads us from precept to precept. He guides us along. We have to SEEK the answers. The great news is that He will GIVE the answers if we will seek them. He is happy to. God WANTS to share Himself with us. We NEED His point of view. We NEED Him. It’s a journey, yes. But it is a journey with a WONDERFUL destination. God doesn’t gatekeep. He is there for ALL of us. Seek Him. You’ll find Him. Every time.
